Large Construction Project:  Native Planting, Early 2012

“Garden Planners Landscape built our front rain garden incorporating a stony watercourse fed from storm water in a midst of native plantings and gravel paths.  The transformation has been dramatic and in a couple of years the eucalypt canopy and colour of the bird attracting, drought tolerant native plants will form a peaceful and sunlit space. This was separated from our back yard by our paved pergola and pathways with grassed areas and surrounding landscaped native and exotic mulched garden beds. The back yard now has a backdrop of foliage shrubs and trees providing seclusion and separation from neighbouring yards, anticipating future built-up areas. The extension of the back yard was used to create an additional space for espaliered fruit trees and raised vegetable containers which will provide fruit, herb and fresh vegetables for the kitchen. The incorporation of in-ground agricultural drainage and capture of most roof storm water has allowed for collection of ample pumped water into a 10,000 litre tank for complementary supply of water for the fruit and vegetable garden. This supply has also ensured support for the new immature hardy exotic and drought tolerant native plantings.
The design and installation of the garden has met our brief and Garden Planners Landscape carried out the job in a professional way. The finished design and construction kept in line with the proposal and timeline, and the work was of a high standard whilst keeping in line with our overall budget”.
